What is Bexar County Emergency Scene Rehab?

What is Bexar County Emergency Scene Rehab, you ask? Bexar County E.S.R. (BCESR), aka Rehab, is a 501 (c)(3) public charity organization under IRS tax laws. Our job is to go on all types of emergency scenes, when requested, to provide Emergency Personnel with the rehabilitation needed to continue the job until it is done. These jobs include, but are not limited to, hydration, food, shelter, onsite medical, monitoring the personnel, providing restroom / hand washing facilities, & any & all other duties that are given to us by the onsite Incident Commander, a.k.a. IC. We also respond to any requests from any department in the 12 county A.A.C.O.G. (Alamo Area Council Of Governments) region.

The 12 county A.A.C.O.G. region includes the following counties in south and central Texas: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, & Wilson. We also respond to Blanco County. Our coverage area is approximately 16,000 square miles!!!

Examples of scenes that we respond to are grass / brush fires, structure fires, extended Fire and Police scenes, hazardous materials & searches for missing persons.

This is a free service, however, we do accept donations.
Bexar County E.S.R. receives no public funding.

We are dispatched through the Bexar County Fire Alarm. If you should need us to respond, contact Fire Alarm at (210) 335-6000 (press option 3 for fire dispatch).
